About the Program

The training program offered at the Cognition Clinic aims to provide students with opportunities to expand their current knowledge base and competencies. Training is rooted in a developmental approach, with students building upon current skills and undertaking increasing responsibility as they progress.

Assessment Training

Students will develop and refine skills in the neuropsychological assessment of self-referred or physician-referred adult clients, with an emphasis on the assessment of attention and executive functioning, and differential diagnosis of psychiatric conditions. Students receive supervised experience in planning test selection, implementing, interpreting, writing up, and communicating results of neuropsychological evaluations using a broad range of tests and procedures.

Therapy Training

Students will independently provide online psychotherapy for adolescent and adult clients with ADHD, OCD, anxiety, and/or health concerns. Students will receive weekly one-on-one supervision. Training will also consist of didactic teaching, guest supervisors, and assigned reading.

If interested, students can learn about the unique aspects of working in private practice, running a small business, supervising, and running volunteer teams.
